4.3.15. Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller

According to the recommendation of manufacturer the belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism needs to be replaced through each 40 000 km of a run or each 4 years of operation (depending on what will come earlier). Besides, replace a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism if at survey you find:
– oil traces on any surface of a belt;
– wear tracks of a gear surface, a crack, undercuts, folds and peeling of fabric from rubber;
– cracks, folds, deepenings or cambers on an external surface of a belt;
– a razlokhmachivaniye or stratification on face surfaces of a belt.

Prevention
The belt with traces of engine oil on any its surface should be replaced as oil quickly destroys rubber. The reason of hit of oil on a belt (usually this violation of tightness of epiploons of cranked and distributive shaft) should be eliminated immediately.

Note
You carry out work on a viewing ditch, a platform or whenever possible on the elevator.

It will be required to you: keys "on 10", "on 13", "on 19", the big screw-driver.
1. Remove the air filter for access simplification (see. "Removal and installation of the air filter").
2. Remove the top cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism").
3. Remove the right forward wheel.
4. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
5. Take off a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
6. Take off a belt of the drive of the generator and compressor of the conditioner (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the generator and compressor of the conditioner").
7. Remove a pulley of the drive of belts of the generator, compressor of the conditioner and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering and the lower cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism from a bent shaft (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism").
8. A key "on 13" weaken an inhaling of two bolts of fastening of an arm of a tension roller.
9. Shift a tension roller against the stop to the left.
10. Take off a belt from the cogged pulley of the water pump and a tension roller...
11.... and from cogged pulleys of cranked and distributive shaft.
12. Finally turn out bolts of fastening of an arm of a tension roller and remove an arm assembled with a roller.
13. Check a condition of a tension roller. If it rotates with jammings, and in the bearing the raised side play is found, replace a roller.

Good advice
Replace a tension roller of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism at each replacement of a belt.

14. Establish a tension roller as it should be, the return to removal.
15. Check coincidence of adjusting tags of cranked and distributive shaft (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
16. Put on a belt the cogged pulley of a bent shaft and a pulley of the water pump. Get a back branch of a belt for a tension roller and, pulling a forward branch, put on a belt a camshaft pulley.
17. Adjust a belt tension (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism").
18. Screw a bolt of fastening of a pulley in a shaft of a bent shaft and turn for a bolt a bent shaft on two turns. Check coincidence of adjusting tags of cranked and distributive shaft. At discrepancy repeat installation of a belt.
19. Establish the removed details as it should be, the return to removal.
20. Adjust a tension of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
