5.9.1. Removal, troubleshooting and installation of the camshaft

The camshaft is installed in an opening of the bearings executed in a body of a head of the block of cylinders and fixed by a persistent flange. The camshaft influences valves through the yokes established on hairpins in the top part of a head of the block of cylinders and fixed by nuts through holders of yokes.
It will be required to you: the same tools, as for removal of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller"), covers of a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders"), and also a face head "on 13", a key "on 13", a dynamometer key.
1. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
2. Remove the cogged pulley of the camshaft (see. "Replacement of an epiploon of the camshaft").

Note
The camshaft can be replaced, without removing a head of the block of cylinders. In this subsection replacement of the camshaft is for descriptive reasons shown on the removed head of the block of cylinders.

3. Turn off a fastening nut...
4.... remove from a hairpin a yoke with the holder...
5.... also take the hydrocompensator.
6. Similarly remove other yokes and take girokompensator.
7. Turn out two bolts of fastening...
8.... remove a persistent flange...
9.... also take the camshaft from a body of a head of the block of cylinders.

Prevention
At each removal of the camshaft replace an epiploon new.

10. Examine the camshaft. On a shponochny flute and a carving part on a sock of a shaft there should not be damages and wear, and in a pro-point under a persistent flange — traces of excessive wear and забоин. The surfaces of basic necks and cams have to be well polished, without damages. If there are traces of jammings, an overheat, deep risks or steps from wear, replace a shaft.

Prevention
Grinding of cams of the camshaft for elimination of step wear is forbidden as at change of the sizes of a profile of cams gas distribution phases will be broken.

11. Measure height of a profile of cams (the size between top and an occipital part of a cam) and compare to the nominal size specified in tab. 5.1.
12. Measure diameters of basic necks of the camshaft and their bearings, calculate the gaps in bearings of shaft determined by a half of a difference between diameters of bearings in a head of the block of cylinders and diameters of necks (tab. 5.2 and 5.3). At the wear exceeding admissible replace the camshaft on repair as regrinding of necks on the repair size is not provided.

Prevention
At installation of the new camshaft of a yoke of valves replace new. Before the first launch of the engine and for improvement of conditions extra earnings are recommended to be added to engine oil anti-seize antifrictional additive.

13. Install the camshaft oiled engine in a body of a head of the block of cylinders. Establish all earlier removed details as it should be, the return to removal.

Prevention
It is possible to launch the engine after installation of the camshaft not earlier than in one hour, this time is necessary for sealant polymerization.

14. Adjust a tension of belts of the drive of the generator and compressor of the conditioner (see. "Check of a tension of a belt of the drive of the generator and compressor of the conditioner"), and also the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
