The steering mechanism is removed for repair or replacement. However consider that the steering mechanism is a major element of safety of the movement. Low-quality repair of the mechanism can lead to serious consequences therefore if necessary repair it only in a specialized workshop or replace new.

It will be required to you: all tools necessary for removal of a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket, and also a key "on 13".

1. Remove a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket assembled with the steering mechanism, the stabilizer of cross stability and levers (see. "Removal and installation of a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket").

Note Need of removal of a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket for dismantle of the mechanism of steering is explained by the fact that because of features of configuration of the car it is impossible to remove the steering mechanism from the cross-piece installed on the car.

2. Turn off nuts of four bolts of fastening of the steering mechanism to a cross-piece of a forward suspension bracket...	3.... also remove the steering mechanism from a cross-piece.

4. Remove a bracket of its fastening from a case of the steering mechanism...

Note Replace the damaged or strongly corroded bracket.

5.... and rubber pillow.

Note Replace strongly pressed out, torn or hardened pillow.

6. In case of need replacements of pipelines of the steering mechanism turn off nuts of their fastening to the distributor and to a case of the mechanism and remove pipelines.

Note Process of replacement of protective covers of steering drafts is described in the subsection "Replacement of Steering Drafts".

7. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal. At installation of the steering mechanism pay attention to that the lath was on average (neutral) situation, and the provision of a steering wheel corresponded to the rectilinear movement.

8. Fill in working liquid in a tank and remove air from system of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Pumping of system of the hydraulic booster of steering").

9. Check and if necessary adjust the angles of installation of forward wheels (see. "Check and adjustment of angles of installation of wheels").
