6.1.3. Removal and installation of coupling

The main malfunctions for which elimination removal and dismantling of coupling are necessary:
– raised (in comparison with habitual) noise at coupling inclusion;
– breakthroughs during the coupling work;
– incomplete inclusion of coupling (coupling "slips");
– incomplete switching off of coupling (coupling "conducts").

Good advice
At failure of coupling we recommend to replace at the same time all its elements (conducted and conducting disks) as work on coupling replacement labor-consuming, and at the intact elements of coupling the resource is already lowered and if to establish them again, repeated replacement of coupling after rather small run can be required.

It will be required to you: all tools necessary for removal of the transmission and a flywheel, and also a face head "on 17", the screw-driver.
1. Remove the transmission (see. "Removal and installation of the transmission").
2. Remove a flywheel together with the conducted clutch plate (see. "Removal, troubleshooting and installation of a flywheel")...
3.... also take the conducted disk from his cavity.
4. Remember an arrangement of the ends of the fixing thrust bearing spring that at the return assembly to establish it in initial situation.
5. Remove a coupling case guard from the directing plugs in the block of cylinders to exclude a hindrance in work in case of a spontaneous detachment of a guard.
6. Take the unbent end of the fixing spring of a thrust bearing of a passatizhama, hook it the screw-driver, take from an opening in a thrust bearing...
7.... also remove a spring...
8.... and thrust bearing.

Good advice
If you establish former press a disk, mark a relative positioning of a casing of a press clutch plate and a bent shaft to establish press a disk in former situation (for balancing preservation).

9. Holding a casing of a press clutch plate from a provorachivaniye the screw-driver, turn out six bolts of fastening of a casing to a flange of a bent shaft. Weaken an inhaling of bolts evenly: each bolt on one turn of a key, passing from a bolt to a bolt on diameter.
10. Remove press a clutch plate from a bent shaft, holding at the same time a lock plate of bolts of fastening of a casing of a disk.

Replace a lock plate of bolts of fastening of a casing of a press clutch plate at each dismantling of connection new.

11. Examine the conducted clutch plate. Cracks on details of the conducted disk are not allowed.
12. Check degree of wear of frictional slips. If heads of rivets are drowned less than on 0,2 mm, the surface of frictional slips is greasy or rivet connections are weakened, then the conducted disk needs to be replaced.

If overlays of the conducted disk are greasy, check a condition of an epiploon of a main shaft of the transmission. Perhaps, its replacement is required.

13. Check reliability of fixing of damping springs in nests of a nave of the conducted disk, trying to move them in nave nests with a hand. If springs easily move in nests or are broken, replace a disk.
14. Check a beating of the conducted disk if at visual survey its buckling is revealed. If the size of a beating exceeds 0,5 mm, replace a disk.
15. Examine the working surfaces of friction of a flywheel and a press disk, having paid attention to absence deep рисок, zadir, забоин, obvious wear tracks and an overheat. Replace defective knots.
16. When weakening rivet connections of details of a casing and press disk replace press a disk assembled.
17. External survey estimate a condition of a diaphragm spring of a press disk. Existence of cracks on a diaphragm spring is not allowed. Places and contact of petals of a spring with a thrust bearing of switching off of coupling have to be in one plane and not have obvious wear tracks (the size of wear should not exceed 0,8 mm). Otherwise replace press a disk assembled.
18. Examine a thrust bearing. At strong development of an insert of a thrust bearing in the place of its contact with a rod of switching off of coupling replace a thrust bearing.
19. Replace the fixing spring of a thrust bearing which is strongly deformed or lost elasticity.
20. Before installation of coupling check ease of movement of the conducted disk on vents of a main shaft of the transmission. If necessary remove the causes of jamming or replace defective parts.
21. Apply refractory jellied lubricant on vents of a nave of the conducted disk.
22. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal. Apply an anaerobic clamp of a carving on a carving part of bolts of fastening of a casing of a press disk. Tighten bolts evenly cross-wise the moment of 100 N · m.

On release cars since March, 1993 bolts of fastening of a casing of a press clutch plate with the programmed deformation are used. Surely replace such bolts new. Tighten these bolts the moment of 60 N · m and then tighten for 90 ° everyone.
Establish the conducted clutch plate by the acting part of a nave towards a flywheel.

23. Install the transmission.
24. Check work of coupling and if necessary adjust its drive (see. "Adjustment of the drive of switching off of coupling").
