6.2.4. Removal and installation of the transmission

The main malfunctions for which elimination it is necessary to remove the transmission from the car:
– raised (in comparison with habitual) noise;
– the complicated gear shifting;
– spontaneous switching off or indistinct inclusion of transfers;
– leak of oil through consolidations and laying.
Besides, the transmission is removed for replacement of a flywheel, coupling and a back epiploon of a bent shaft of the engine.

Useful tips
Work on removal and installation of the transmission is very labor-consuming therefore be previously surely convinced that its malfunctions are not caused by other reasons (insufficient level of oil, defects of the drive of coupling, weakening of fastening of a box, etc.).
The transmission quite heavy also has the form, inconvenient for keeping, therefore we recommend to remove it with the assistant.

It will be required to you: keys "on 10", "on 13", the screw-driver with a flat edge.
1. Install the car on the elevator or a viewing ditch.
2. Merge oil from the transmission (see. "Check of level and replacement of oil in the transmission") if you remove it for repair.
3. Disconnect internal hinges of drives of forward wheels from the transmission (see. "Removal and installation of drives of forward wheels").
4. Disconnect the sensor of provision of a bent shaft from a coupling case (see. "Sensors of a control system of the engine").
5. Disconnect blocks of plaits of wires from the backing light switch...
6.... and from the speed sensor, having squeezed spring clamps of blocks.
7. Disconnect a cable from the coupling switching off lever (see. "Replacement of a cable of the drive of switching off of coupling").
8. Remove a starter (see. "Removal and installation of a starter").
9. Unfasten the screw-driver a clamp of the hinge of draft of the choice of transfers...
10.... also disconnect the hinge from a spherical finger of the intermediate lever of the choice of transfers of the mechanism of the transmission.
11. Turn out a bolt of fastening of an arm on the transmission to the left back support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.
12. Unclench the screw-driver a spring clamp of draft of gear shifting...
13.... take a clamp from an opening of draft and disconnect draft from the gear shifting lever.
14. Unfasten a clamp of the hinge of intermediate draft of the choice of transfers...
15.... also disconnect draft from a spherical finger of the intermediate lever.
16. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the amplifier of the block of cylinders to a forward part of the power unit...
17.... two bolts of fastening to a back part...
18.... three bolts of fastening of the amplifier to a coupling case...
19.... also remove the amplifier.
20. Establish a reliable support under the engine, turn out the top bolt of fastening of an arm of a forward support of a suspension bracket of the power unit to a coupling case, turn off a nut of the lower bolt of fastening of an arm and take a bolt.
21. Turn out two bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine located from the back party of the power unit...
22.... and two top bolts of fastening of the transmission to the engine.
23. Turn out three bolts of fastening of an arm of the left back support of a suspension bracket of the power unit to a case of the transmission and remove an arm.
24. Shift the transmission a little back and take from a gap between it and the block of cylinders a coupling case guard.
25. Shift a box as much as possible back to an exit of its main shaft from a nave of the conducted clutch plate, incline a back part of a box down and remove a box from the car.
26. Install the transmission and all removed details and knots as it should be, the return to removal.

Good advice
Before installation of the transmission we recommend to grease vents of a main shaft with a thin layer of refractory jellied lubricant.

27. Fill in oil in the transmission (see. "Check of level and dolivka of oil in the transmission") if it was merged before its removal.
